E-commerce on Squarespace

Project details:
MINÉ Mediterranean is a luxury swimwear and accessories brand founded in New York.
The store was built on Squarespace, but the client wanted to adjust a number of design elements that could only be achieved through coding.
The store also has a unique feature: the different color variations of the products are displayed as separate products (that is, each with its own product page), and the client specifically requested this setup.
The challenge was to display swatches for the different colors of the same product without having to set them up as actual variants. Furthermore, it had to be designed in such a way that the client could easily update it in the future, without having to rely on a programmer every time she needed to add a new color.
Project objectives:
Making fine-tuning adjustments to the design and layout of the pages, which can only be done through code.
Display product size options as buttons or swatches, rather than as a dropdown menu, which was the default option in Squarespace at the time the project was created.
Hide certain default elements in the product page layout.
Create a system for product color swatches that will be visually integrated as part of the variants on the product page and that the client can easily edit or modify in the future.
