Nailea Sarait is a Venezuelan artist and botanical illustrator based in Halifax, Canada.
What started as an Etsy shop that really took off in 2020 had outgrown its space. Nailea needed a space of her own that would reflect her style as an artist and give her more control over her brand.
In her shop, she mainly sells watercolor palettes, botanical presses, paintbrushes, art and illustration sketchbooks—all handmade.
Project objectives:
Design and develop our own online store on Squarespace, migrating from Etsy to gain greater control over the shopping experience.
Create a sophisticated and authentic website that reflects your style as an artist and speaks directly to your target audience: lovers of art, nature, and naturalistic illustration.
Implement features that allow you to interact with your customers in a personalized way and grow your business in the future.
Solutions:
We created a fully functional online store on Squarespace, featuring their naturalistic illustrations prominently on the homepage.
We handled the technical setup of the store, importing its entire product catalog and over 300 reviews from Etsy to maintain customer trust.
We add related products at the bottom of each product page to encourage internal navigation within the store.
We set up tax rates for sales within and outside Canada, customize post-purchase notification emails, and prepare a newsletter template.
We complemented the web design with a visual identity inspired by her work, using colors drawn from her own watercolors and incorporating small illustrations as visual elements on the website.
