Atelier Cube SA, an architecture firm based in Lausanne and founded in 1983. With over 40 years of experience, the firm is renowned for its rationalist approach and its commitment to high-quality architecture in French-speaking Switzerland.

Atelier Cube had a website that did not reflect either its history or the quality of its architectural work. With a portfolio spanning more than 40 years—including completed projects, competitions, awards, and publications—they needed a digital presence that lived up to their reputation in the Swiss architectural community.
The previous website made it difficult to navigate its extensive portfolio of projects and failed to convey the conceptual clarity and rigor that characterize their work. Furthermore, as a studio with an international reach, they needed a bilingual French-English structure that was easy to manage.
Project objectives:
The challenge was to create an extremely minimalist website with meticulous attention to design: spacing, alignment, information architecture, and navigation.
We needed to organize an extensive portfolio so that it would be easy to navigate: completed projects organized by decade, competitions, exhibitions, publications, and awards.
Everything had to be perfectly organized into categories, but without the taxonomy overwhelming the user.
Above all, the website had to feel open and airy. Plenty of white space, elegant typography, architectural photographs given the prominence they deserve, and navigation so intuitive it felt almost invisible.
For this project, we designed the website from scratch, creating a radically minimalist visual system where every element serves a purpose. A website that functions almost like a digital archive: clear, precise, and unpretentious.
